The Commission is an agency of the federal government, distinct and independent from the RCMP. The Commission reviews and investigates complaints about the conduct of RCMP members. When reviewing a complaint, the Commission does not act as an advocate for either the complainant or the RCMP members.

 Undertake assigned primary and secondary research to advance policy research and experimentation and to support and inform strategic policy development and the analyses of emerging issues or trends impacting FCAC’s mandate; and provide evidence-based reports and findings to the Manager.

Plan, implement and coordinate visitor experience programs for the park, historical site or marine conservation area to enhance visitor experience and encourage Canadians and international visitors to appreciate, learn about, enjoy and personally connect with the natural and cultural heritage places managed by Parks Canada.
