• Carries out intervention and diversion activities to address risk factors among vulnerable youth and adult offenders in order to prevent recidivism.
• Uses structured interviewing techniques and evidence-based instruments to conduct mental health screening, as well as criminogenic risk screening and assessment.
• Interprets the screening and assessment results for the purpose of developing appropriate interventions and establishing meaningful and proportionate accountability measures according to the level of identified risk.
• Promotes and supports community crime prevention by identifying and recommending evidence based programs and initiatives.
• Delivers education and awareness activities to address various crime and victimization issues.
• Contributes to the RCMP’s partnership with community (local, provincial & federal departments, NGO’s, and First Nations) in order to foster community mobilization and response to crime reduction matters.
• Works with community-based, multi-disciplinary teams to conduct Violence Threat Risk Assessments.
