The incumbent will work independently to gross complex surgical specimens, determine the need to consult with a pathologist, make technical grossing decisions, troubleshoot and resolve specimen receiving issues. Will also be expected to be proficient in surgical pathology prosection and may on occasion need to accession specimens or place specimens on tissue processors.

Responsibilities for this position include serving as a practitioner, educator and a role model for residents, students, and staff members on grossing complex and small specimens, as well as performing frozen sections, specimen photography, and supporting tissue procurement for clinical research.
